SEALS (Safety Education and Aquatic Learning) Kids' Mini-Camp

Corolla Ocean Rescue operates a free two-hour mini camp instructed by the local lifeguards. Kids learn about ocean and beach safety, basic first aid, the ocean environment, and making smart health choices. There is a morning and an afternoon session offered every Tuesday beginning in June and running through mid-August.

Junior Lifeguard Program

Operated by Corolla Ocean Rescue, this comprehensive four-day program includes instruction by Ocean Rescue professionals in ocean safety, lifeguarding techniques, first aid, CPR, physical fitness, surfing, and beach volleyball. We also visit our local wildlife center to learn about coastal conservation and marine life. We encourage in participants a sense of self-confidence, leadership skills, and a respect for others and the coastal environment.

Surfside Scute 5K & Tiny Turtle Kids’ Fun Run

This 5K race for runners and walkers is a community building event designed to encourage healthy lifestyles. Enjoy the fresh ocean air and beautiful beach scenery as you race across the one-of-a-kind course winding through Corolla, starting in Monteray Plaza and including a short 1/4-mile segment on the sand. There will also be a short Tiny Turtle Kids' Fun Run for ages 10 & under. The event will be a "green" race, incorporating green practices such as online registration to keep paper to a minimum and on-site recycling.
